⚠️ Rental Scam Using My Real Address in Montreal – Scammer “Anne Ermery” / annelessiler98@gmail.com

I’m reporting an ongoing rental scam that is using my real residential address in Montreal, Canada to lure international students into sending identity documents and fraudulent deposits.

The scammer is using the fake name Anne Ermery on Facebook and the email address annelessiler98@gmail.com. She is pretending to be the landlord of a fully furnished studio at 3247 Avenue Appleton, Montréal, which she does not own or have access to.

Victims are being asked to:

• Provide their full name, home address, passport/ID scan
• Pay a “reservation” of $1500 CAD
• Send money to a “contact” based in France
• Communicate exclusively via Facebook Messenger and Gmail, refusing to give a phone number

The scam includes fake photos and fabricated lease steps. I have had multiple strangers knock on my door expecting to move in — this is dangerous, disruptive, and a clear case of identity fraud, financial fraud, and impersonation.

The scammer has shown aggressive or manipulative behavior when questioned and continues to message new victims daily.
