Deutsche Bank: Warns about investment scams.

Navigating the Rising Tide of Investment Scams in Australia

The vast Australian landscape is witnessing a disconcerting spike in the frequency of sophisticated investment scams. Esteemed financial institutions, including Deutsche Bank, are being alerted by the public about their encounters with aggressive sales pitches. These pitches tempt them with seemingly high-yield, low-risk investments. Although these propositions may sound convincing and the promotional materials may appear authentic, they are, unfortunately, elaborate scams.

Deutsche Bank’s Standpoint

“Deutsche Bank feels compelled to assert unequivocally, for Australia and New Zealand:

We do not solicit the general populace with our financial products or services.

We will never engage in direct outreach via calls or emails to the public about investment opportunities.

We do not employ social media platforms as a means to endorse investment opportunities.”

Beware of Counterfeit Communication Channels

The email identities used by these fraudsters are a far cry from genuine Deutsche Bank emails, these email addresses are investment scam emails.

Legitimate Deutsche Bank email addresses end with @db.com only. Counterfeit emails may include:

@db-fixedincome.com

@dbclientadvisers.com

@deutscheassetmanagementau.com

@fixedincome-db.com.au

In the promotional materials and emails circulated by these fraudsters, they provide counterfeit contact numbers for our Deutsche Bank offices in Sydney, UK, Tokyo, and several other cities.

Always Verify Contact Information

It is always prudent to reach out to Deutsche Bank using the contact details provided on the www.db.com website. For Australia, you can find the link here. Alternatively, you can locate your local country office on db.com under the ‘Locations’ tab, then choose the relevant country.

What Should You Do If You’ve Been Targeted?

Say No to Unverified Transactions: Do not transfer funds under any circumstances.

Reach Out: If you’ve been approached by someone claiming to sell investments on behalf of Deutsche Bank, get in touch with us directly using official contact details db.com.

Report the Incident: We strongly recommend anyone who has been solicited about these sorts of investments to report the incident to ASIC (ASIC scam notification), and the ACCC (Scamwatch)

If You’ve Fallen Victim

File a Police Report: It’s crucial to file a report at your local police station if you’ve fallen victim to such a scam.

Seek Guidance: In case you’ve shared any personal information with the scammer, such as copies of a passport or driver’s license, etc., reach out to IDCare for guidance and assistance. Check out our Prevention or Victim Pages
